How to Use This Table to Find the Optimum Blade Diameter

Follow the two steps below to find the optimum bridge saw blade diameter you need for your machine and the material you are cutting.

Step 1

First, you need to calculate the desired tip speed for the material you are cutting. The tip speed is a measurement of the speed at which a point on the circumference of the blade is spinning. In this case, we are setting the speed at which the diamond segment is impacting the stone. It is measured in meters per second (m/sec).

Once you know the tip speed, find the value in the first row. Then, look down until you see the spindle speed (RPM) of your machine. Then look across that line until you see the ideal blade diameter in millimetres (mm) for your machine and the material you are cutting.
